QR For Everyone
How We Test QR Codes
QR code guidance on this site is grounded in practical checks that creators can repeat before publishing or printing.
Generator behavior
We verify that the generator creates static payloads for the selected QR type, validates required fields, renders a preview in the browser, and offers download formats without requiring an account.
Scan reliability checks
We review the same factors recommended to users: sufficient size, a clear quiet zone, dark-on-light contrast, reasonable data length, suitable error correction, and a destination that works on mobile devices.
Print checks
For printed QR codes, the practical method is to scan the code at final size, from the real distance, under likely lighting, and on the final material when possible. Glossy, curved, small, or outdoor placements need extra testing.
Destination checks
A QR code is only useful if the destination works. We recommend testing the full journey while logged out: page load, menu display, file access, contact action, payment page, review link, form, Wi-Fi join, or calendar event.
Limits of testing
No website can guarantee every future phone, scanner app, printer, material, lighting condition, network connection, or changed destination. Use the QR Code Test Checklist and re-test important codes before large print runs.
